Coffin Box Tutorial
by Pam Smerker
Coffin Box die cut including both pieces. The top of the coffin box is slightly larger and has two triangular flaps per side. The bottom of the Coffin Box has only one triangular flap per side.
Step by Step Assembly Instructions:
There are two pieces to the Coffin die cut box, this would be a good time to decorate or stamp your box when it still is flat. You can add popped up embellishments once the box is assembled.
Crease all of the score lines when finished.
Create the bottom piece of Coffin die cut box by placing Killer Red tape on flaps and adhere side flaps to the box, keep in mind that the triangular flap on the longest side goes on the inside of the box. We recommend that you build the bottom of the Coffin box first.
Create the top piece of the Coffin die cut box by placing Killer Red tape on flaps and adhere the upper and lower flaps. Note that the top of the Coffin Box has two triangular flaps. The outer edge of the short flap should line up with the outer edge of the long flap.
When building the long sides of the top box of the coffin die place the bottom box inside to assure that you do not build the top box too tightly.
Finish by decorating.
This sample was decorated using MSE and Stampin’ UP! stamped images.
